The OTB Europe Podcast: A New Chapter in the OTB Podnet

    OTB Discs Europe

Greetings, Frisbee Family! Welcome back to another installment of the OTB Europe Blog, where we explain the story behind our mission to create the #1 Disc Golf Store at the pre-eminent disc golf destination on the planet, the Ale Disc Golf Center. In this post, we will take a closer look at the OTB Europe Podcast.

The OTB Europe Podcast is just in its infancy, but we hope that it can capture some of the excitement, passion, and personality that embodies the OTB Discs brand along with the unique storylines and relationships that define OTB Europe. Springing from the tradition of OTB podcasts past, the OTB Europe Podcast is an extension of OTB and everything we value about the format; conveying information in an entertaining way, while maintaining space for stories, tall tales, a few inside jokes, and everything in-between.

The OTB "Podnet" was established by the infamous "Jammin' With the Best" Podcast. This was a semi-regular conversation between OTB Owner, Danny Corbett, OTB Employees Samuel "Sand Belly" Aldrich and Aaron "AA" Rowley, and then-Windjammers club president, Craig "Krash" Gustafson. This podcast spanned several years and over 100 episodes. Sometimes strange, oftentimes inappropriate, and always hilarious, Jammin' With the Best was best known as an honest (and perhaps a little buzzed) conversation between friends. After its start, the show took on a rather auspicious role in Episode Nine, documenting the 2019 San Francisco Open, the precursor to what is now the OTB Open. Tournament director, Sean Jack, needed someone (or someTHING) to interview the players and provide some commentary at the SFO, and the boys from OTB were up to the challenge. The lengthy recording was raucous, unscripted, and not without a certain charm as the boys dissected the action and touched a few nerves. With that, the motivation was there to continue the conversation from the cozy confines of the original OTB Discs retail space, just off the Miracle Mile in mid-town Stockton, CA.

Fast forward a few years and the OTB crew found itself in a new setting on Alpine Avenue at their current retail space, outfitted with a dedicated podcast studio. Originally decorated with stuffed animals sent in by fans, the studio eventually evolved into one of the most sacred areas in the OTB universe. Original artwork by Chicago-based muralist Nick "Sick" Fisher, living in LA at the time, elevated the studio to another level. With the hard work of audio engineer, Stanley Raquel, the podcast continued to ramble on (pun intended), covering the daily elements of shop life, hilarious anecdotes from the crew, and some unbelievable hot takes (usually attributed to Krash). But as time becomes less available and responsibilities shifted, a new podcast would emerge, Morning Round with Greggy Biscuits.

Morning Round was created in the vacuum left by Jammin' With the Best, but was never intended as a substitute. Greg's connections formed on the road through the OTB Road Show would facilitate dozens of episodes focused around player interviews and current events. Documenting the off and on-season routines of the pros, origin stories within the sport, and conversations specifically focused on the "non-Disc Golf" sides of your favorite Disc Golfers. The Morning Round podcast enjoyed a healthy run before tapering off in the 2024 offseason, but the urge to pod did not die for Greggy Biscuits.

Which brings us to the present, early 2026. Now in Sweden as part of the OTB Europe family, Greggy Biscuits still has the desire to create and hold conversations with pros, organizers, and Disc Golf-insiders…and he has found a worthy ally to create such a forum, co-worker Mattias Nilsson. With a background in professional audio mixing and a penchant for disc golf content, Mattias is the perfect person for the assignment. So at the end of 2025, during the "slow" part of the disc golf calendar, Greg and Mattias got the OTB Europe Podcast off the ground. And while it is only five episodes old (Episode Five coming soon to a streaming service near you!), this latest contribution to the OTB Discs Podnet is off to a blazing start. So far the guests have included World Champion Gregg Barsby, Tour Down Under organizers Henry Pearson and Ken Harris, rising star Sofia Donnecke, highly-touted pro Eagle McMahon, and PDGA Executive Director, Doug Bjerkaas. And this is just the beginning! You can look forward to more interviews with pro disc golf athletes domestic and abroad, Team OTB members old and new, and influential decision-makers that continue to shape the sport that we love. The OTB Europe Podcast will highlight storylines from around the globe, while simultaneously making the world feel a little smaller and more well-connected, through a light-hearted discussion that spans generations and borders.

So we hope that you will stay tuned and enjoy the conversation as we continue to provide background and insight into every aspect of the disc golf community. The OTB Europe Podcast is here for you! Thanks for listening.
